Gala Day
Saturday 15 October 2011, 9am - 4pm
Memorial Park, Batlow
Proudly sponsored by Batlow Apples
.
A fantastic day by was enjoyed by young and old alike as this small mountain township turned on the festival atmosphere. Apple games, chalk art, jousting and market stalls, all gave the big crowd plenty to see and do all day, while a great stage line up provided quality music. Victoria Baillie wowed a huge crowd while old favourites including Owen Blundell kept the audience entertained. Young Wagga locals Sunset City were also popular.
Kids had the opportunity to learn circus skills, launch apples at a "castle", make kites, get their faces painted (or covered in pie!). The apple pie eating contest was enjoyed by both particpants and onlookers; the addition of plenty of whipped cream and the ban on the use of hands made this a memorable challenge!
The day was wrapped up with an outdoor movie and a spectacular fireworks display, sponsored by Snowy Works & Services.
